Co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, an Ethio-India Business Forum kicked off today (February 03, 2017) at Hilton Hotels, in Addis Ababa.
In her opening address, State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Mrs. Hirut Zemene noted that Ethiopia and India have had strategic economic cooperation, adding that her country is keen to expand its trade and investment ties with India with the view to maximize the mutual benefit of the peoples of the two nations.
Taking note of the fact that Indian companies are already engaged in Ethiopia in sectors like agriculture and the manufacturing industry, the State Minister called on Indian investors to further expand their involvement in the development of industrial parks.
Indian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Anurag Srivastava underscored that India would work hard to further strengthen its bilateral relations with Ethiopia.
The Ambassador further expressed India's readiness to elevate the bilateral trade and investment ties to a new high.
Over 17 Indian companies attended the Ethio-India Business Forum, it was learnt.
