Ethiopia’s retaliatory measure makes Shaebia to reassess all its mistakes: GCAO

Addis Ababa, June 14, 2016 (FBC) – The heavy loss inflicted on Eritrean military as a result of Ethiop’s recent retaliatory measure will make the Shaebian government to stop and reassess all its mistakes, said Government Communication Affairs Office (GCAO).

In a press conference he gave here today in connection with the measures taken by Ethiopia in response to Eritrea’s attempted attack at Tsorena front last Sunday, GCAO Minister, Getachew Reda, expressed his hope that the measure will stop Eritrea's provocative act.

The measure was taken in response to Eritrea’s attempt to destabilize Ethiopia. In the attack, Ethiopia achieved its mission, the minister said.

"The Eritrean government will be responsible if problems occur after this," he said.

The government of Ethiopia will continue taking proportionate measures if Eritrea continues its provocative action, he said.

When asked if the two countries will go into war, he said, it depends on Eritrea’s activities. But given the magnitude of the loss inflicted on it, the Eritrean government won't go into war, he added.

Currently, the Ethiopian defense forces have returned back to their camp after achieving their mission , he said.

Responding to question regarding Al Shabaab, the minister said the group’s attempt was thwarted by Ethiopian forces. Ethiopian military force wreaked a heavy loss on the militants.

Ethiopian troops are currently in their regular peacekeeping operations, he said.
