Melinda Gates Nominates Ethiopia Minister of Health for 120 under 40 Award
The Ethiopian Minster of Health,Dr. Kesetebirhan Admasu has been nominated by the co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, Mrs. Melinda Gates for the 120 under 40 awards.
The award which launched on 26 September, 2016 recognizes and highlights the achievements of the next generation of family planning leaders worldwide.
Commenting on the work of Dr. Kesetebirhan on the nominee page, Mrs. Gates described him as a tireless advocate for family who has been instrumental to the training of various family planning service providers in Ethiopia.
“Dr. Admasu is a tireless advocate for family planning. 38,000 health extension workers, trained under his leadership, are now reaching women and girls in rural areas of Ethiopia with the information and services they need.” she said.
120 Under 40 is organized by the Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, with sponsorship from Bayer. Nominations are still on.
